Lab Support Technician

Job Description Job Description Pride Health is seeking a Lab Support Specialist to join our team in New Orleans, LA, 70121 . This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension. Position Summary: The Laboratory Referral Specialist II supports a strategic client facility by managing all aspects of referral testing sent to our Clinic Laboratories. This role involves specimen handling, order resolution, report monitoring, supply management, and providing on-site customer service. The specialist ensures compliance with both client's and our policies, assists with LIS test builds, and trains staff on referral processes. Strong communication, attention to detail, and confidentiality are essential for success in this client-facing laboratory position. Job Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate the referral send-out testing process from the client facility to our Laboratories. Receive, verify, handle, aliquot, process, and ship biological specimens (e.g., blood, urine) in compliance with safety and quality standards. Resolve issues related to test orders, specimen integrity, and client submissions by liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Monitor and maintain daily reports including pending lists, billing charges, and quality metrics. Scan test results into the client's LIS/EMR and ensure proper documentation and communication of results. Provide onsite customer service and act as a resource to the client’s clinical laboratory staff. Train client staff on Clinic’s referral and send-out testing processes and workflows. Participate in occasional travel for professional development or training as needed.
