Principal Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects | Up to £100K Car Allowance Join a global M&E Design & Build Contractor delivering cutting-edge infrastructure across Rail, Highways, Water & Energy sectors. We’re looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer with a passion for driving projects from design through to commissioning, ensuring top standards in safety, quality, and compliance. What you’ll do: Lead electrical engineering across all project stages: tender, design, installation, testing, commissioning & handover Manage and mentor a talented team of engineers, designers & BIM/CAD techs Deliver high & low-voltage designs (up to 33kV) — lighting, UPS, switchboards, VSDs & more Conduct thorough design reviews, ensuring buildability and compliance Collaborate on PLC control systems (SCADA, BMS) and contribute to safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON) Oversee project documentation and coordinate with on-site teams to resolve issues Support tenders and liaise with manufacturers to ensure product suitability You’ll bring: HNC in Electrical Engineering Chartered status (or working towards it) Infrastructure experience (Rail, Highways, Power, Water, Highways) Strong knowledge of electrical installations, legislation & design standards Skilled with Amtech/Trimble, Cymap, AutoCAD/Microstation Experience with low-to-medium voltage systems Leadership, communication & team management skills SMSTS and/or CSCS card & UK driving licence What’s in it for you ?
