FPGA Engineer - Peripherals

Location: Pisa, Italy Contract or Permanent: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Embedded Systems Overview We’re seeking an experienced FPGA Software Developer to support the development of high-performance systems using Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale and RFSoC platforms. This role focuses on low-level peripheral interface design as well as implementing signal processing algorithms in HDL and C. Key Responsibilities Configure Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale and RFSoC-based systems. Develop HDL (VHDL/Verilog) modules for high-speed interfaces (ADC, DAC, DMA, SPI, I2C, PCIe, Ethernet). Write and integrate C drivers for embedded Linux (Petalinux) environments. Collaborate closely with hardware and signal processing teams to ensure seamless system integration. Optimize performance and resource usage in Vivado. Support debugging, simulation, and testing on hardware. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale / RFSoC platforms . Proficiency in HDL (VHDL or Verilog) and embedded C development. Experience configuring and integrating hardware interfaces (ADC/DAC, SPI, PCIe, etc.). Familiarity with Vivado , Petalinux , and embedded Linux workflows. Understanding of embedded system design and SoC integration. Desirable Experience with high-speed digital signal chains or software-defined radio systems. Previous work in aerospace, defense, or other regulated/real-time environments.
