Job Description
About The Role: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic Estimating team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and commercial coordination of tender and bid proposals, playing a crucial role in adding value to both the team and the wider company. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual to contribute to the delivery of reliable construction cost advice, supply chain market testing, and data analysis. Strong communication and decision-making skills are essential to succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities: Review tender documents, compile subcontractor and supplier enquiries, and prepare material and labour take-offs Analyse supply chain tender returns and assist in the preparation of competitive tender submissions Address post-tender queries and prepare accurate budget costings Support the creation of comprehensive bid and estimating documentation Attend pre-tender meetings, contractor engagement days, and site visits as needed Prepare internal QA handover documentation following successful tender awards Source and evaluate contractors and suppliers for economic viability Update and maintain databases with new supply chain details and bid data Liaise with Estimating and Commercial teams to support tender adjudications Oversee and direct the Estimating Assistant in managing subcontractor enquiries and supply chain engagement About You: Previous experience in a similar Estimating role is essential Degree or accredited diploma in a relevant construction or engineering discipline is desirable Proven experience across areas such as social housing refurbishments, external wall insulation (EWI), mechanical, electrical, heating, and cladding projects Skilled in take-offs and tender pricing methodologies Familiarity with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Conquest, etc. Prior experience working on framework agreements Full UK driving licence Strong negotiation and influencing abilities Results-driven with a keen attention to detail Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism Self-confident, independent thinker with a creative, solutions-focused mindset Strong initiative – able to work autonomously and manage workload effectively Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and respectfully Existing network within the supply chain is a strong advantage Why Join Us: Synergize is renowned for the safe, timely and high-quality delivery of remediation and maintenance contracts across the UK.
