We currently have the following opportunity: Parent & Family Learning Co-ordinator - PKC12933 £33,020 - £36,279 (28.8 Hours per week) Perth Grammar School An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and articulate individual that has an invested interest in supporting young people or parents/carers in exploring a successful career in early learning and childcare profession. This position within the Parenting & Family Learning Team is for a co-ordinator to develop a new project that will support young people and parents/carers to explore working with children and young people. You will work closely with a range of professionals in the Early Years, Childcare and Parenting and Family Learning Teams to provide a programme of training and work experience to encourage both parents and young people to explore the opportunities of working in the Early Years and Childcare Sector in a range of different roles. The successful individual will be required to develop, a training and work experience programme, this will include developing partnership working with services within Perth & Kinross Council and external agencies. The project will offer a range of training and experiences to suit the needs of the young people or adults, including accredited courses, transferable training and work experience. This would involve working closely with school management, guidance staff, parents/carers and young people. This post is fixed term to March 2027 working 28.8 hours per week, full year, with a flexible approach to ensure the needs of the service are met. Requirements You must have a degree or equivalent qualification and experience of working in a relevant discipline such as Childhood Practice, Social Care, Community Education, Social Work or Education. Completion and experience delivering Peep Learning Together and Peep Progression Pathway would be desirable, however this training can be offered. The ideal candidate will be motivated to developing this project, excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills will be essential. Effective time management with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines is critical to the project development within the fixed term constraints. The ideal candidate will be confident in a range of IT systems to complete a number of tasks including; creating and producing presentations, publicity for a range of audiences, preparing and presenting impact updates and reports that includes qualitative and qualitative data. You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate this new project. You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the childcare sector (2-14 years) and adult learning including accredited learning (SQA). You must have experience and skills in engaging with parents/carers, young people or children and delivering group work. You must have good communication and listening skills and be able to develop appropriate relationships with families. You must have a valid driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth & Kinross.
