OUR CLIENT Our client is in the process of building out a new manufacturing facility in Ciudad Juarez and we have been retained to secure key leadership and functional management to support their greenfield project. Due to the sensitive nature of this search, the initial phase will be managed on a confidential basis. Candidates who are found to meet the criteria for this role will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before being provided with a detailed candidate brief, which will include the identity of our client and other sensitive information relevant to the role. POSITION SUMMARY The Logistics and Binning Manager will oversee the personnel, strategy and continuous improvement of both Logistics and Binning Value Streams. You will ensure that teams deliver policy deployment results. A strong technical background, including logistics experience in SAP and a strong understanding of concepts such as lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality disciplines, are required. You are expected to manage all operations (people, information, and materials), teach & coach others in the Value Stream, and continuously improve processes. In Logistics, your initial focus will be to work on a multi-national cross-functional team to launch the SAP Extended Warehouse Management ERP system. Ongoing responsibilities include continuously improving warehouse layout and lineside inventory replenishment to the production areas, material handling processes, and equipment. This position oversees all receiving, warehousing, materials replenishment and shipping activities at the facility. Logistics is continuously evolving at the company´s, and this manager must perform well in an environment of continuous change. The Binning area is responsible for receiving, sorting and temporarily storing finished good items until complete customer orders are aggregated into one shipment bin, at which time they are collected and packaged into an outbound Shipping box for each customer order. You will be responsible for managing the physical layout, storage bins and packing tables so that shipping processes are optimized. In this position, there will be a heavy reliance on in-house shipping and labor planning software, which you must be capable of learning, so that you can lead your teams to deliver continuous improvement initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Analyze logistical opportunities, evaluate alternatives, create and execute measurable solutions to support business requirements Manage a team of Logistics personnel who are responsible for handling all inbound shipments of raw materials and supplies, warehouse material movements and all outbound customer orders Develop inventory storage, delivery strategies, and technology improvements that allow for the consolidation of the company´s inventories into the most optimal processes. Support the ongoing launch of Logistics at the Facility. This includes support with local resources and establishing communication processes to ensure consistent Logistics practices across the North American Plant Network. Proactively liaise with Global Supply Chain planners to ensure Material inventory management and reporting is accurate. Support revenue growth by adjusting inventory storage and material handling strategies to minimize the footprint while adapting to ever-changing equipment footprint. Leverage in-house shipping software to ensure that binning capacity and labor utilization are optimized. Ensuring the Supply Chain team meets safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives while maintaining high morale in the Binning and Logistics area Proactively identifying & driving daily continuous improvement opportunities. Leading complex tasks and functions while delivering department policy deployment results Cascading plant policy deployment objectives/projects to supervisors and team leaders Utilizing daily reporting/tracking results to detect, escalate, and root cause abnormalities in the flow (people, materials, and information) Responsibility to ensure their fiscal adherence to budgets and approve expenditures, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets Liaising with cross-functional departments/organizations and driving project teams Providing transparent communication with all shift supervisors and management Recruiting, motivating, developing, and retaining great people Administering all aspects of performance management for their team and provide ongoing coaching and feedback Lead teams to embrace company safety behaviors, policies, standards and regulations. Support inventory planning personnel by ensuring warehouse inventory accuracy through management of cycle count and physical inventory programs EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED Undergraduate degree/diploma in Engineering or an appropriate field preferred Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing operations management experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership capacity for a high-volume world-class manufacturer. Experience with SAP warehouse management systems is a MUST. Proven broad domain manufacturing knowledge and leadership development experience Proven experience with lean manufacturing and/or the Toyota Production System (TPS) Successful track record of consistently meeting and exceeding key performance indicators Proven experience and responsibility in implementing and enforcing plant safety guidelines Built high-performing, empowered organizations that balance speed and quality to deliver superior customer outcomes Ability to interact effectively with all levels, and all positions within the organization Demonstrated strategic analysis and planning skills Driven, energetic and global thinker who desires personal growth Excellent oral and written communication skills and high English proficiency Fluent in English & Spanish
