Sr. Network Support Technician with Security Clearance

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide remote support for LAN/WAN infrastructure at the FCC GB site, ensuring uptime, reliability, and performance • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, both hardware and software-related • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices • Monitor network systems using approved tools and escalate issues when appropriate • Support patching, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes in accordance with change control policies • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve incidents and implement enhancements • Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP schemas, and asset inventories • Participate in network security efforts including access control, port management, and segmentation • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and implementation of security best practices • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or o Associate and 6 years of relevant experience; or o High School and 8 years of relevant experience • Active CompTIA Network certification • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain Public Trust Clearance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Proficiency in managing Cisco or equivalent network hardware • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies • Ability to work independently in a remote capacity while coordinating with onsite staff • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others. • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues. • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired. • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
