Job Description Job Description Summary MedPOINT Management seeks a Senior Paralegal in our Legal Affairs Department to support MedPOINT’s administrative teams, clients, customer service departments, contracting teams, and policy advisors to ensure proper processing of legal documents, drafting of cross-departmental and legal policies, completion of complex legal research and investigations, completion of legal redlines to vendor and provider agreements, issuance of litigation holds, and compilation of required discovery to prepare for administrative disputes, legal hearings, arbitrations, mediations, trials, and to support policy research. This position requires advanced knowledge of the law and legal procedures and superior leadership and management skills. Duties and Responsibilities · Receiving and processing legal correspondence, subpoenas, and requests for records pursuant to developed policies and procedures to ensure prompt response for appropriate requests · Provide first-level draft review of provider, health plan, and vendor agreements to provide regulatory updates · Communicate and collaborate with numerous stakeholders as needed to finalize policies, issue discovery holds, and collect necessary documentation to support responsive pleadings and document requests · Act as a liaison between the VP of Legal Affairs and internal/external stakeholders · Draft and edit official correspondence, memos, reports, policies, and presentations on behalf of the VP of Legal Affairs and Chief Legal Counsel · Research and compile documentation required by counsel and clients to support dispute resolution via administrative dispute procedures, mediation, arbitration, trial or otherwise · Provide first pass contract review for legal updates and corrections as part of provider and vendor negotiations · Assist with legal research using Westlaw to include court filing status in state and federal courts using Pacer and Court look-ups · Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to privacy and security policies · Building strong relationships with other administrative professionals and stakeholders to foster a supportive and collaborative working environment Minimum Job Requirements · Bachelor’s degree, project management experience or paralegal certifications required · 5 years of experience in a Paralegal position or as an Assistant in a law firm · Experience working in the healthcare field and or client services business is highly preferred · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software · Proficient in court lookup · Ability to perform work in multiple platforms depending on the task including legal technology and contract management tools Skill and Abilities · Strong organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail · Demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving and thrives in a high-paced, dynamic team environment · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion · Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
