Health & Safety Coordinator (12-month contract)

Job Description ROLE: Health & Safety Coordinator (12-month contract– Upton, QC) We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team for a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in occupational health and safety within a dynamic environment. The H&S Coordinator will support the implementation of safety programs, assist with compliance initiatives, and contribute to fostering a safe and healthy workplace culture. Role: Health & Safety Coordinator (12-month contract– Upton, QC) Reports to : National Health and Safety Director Work Mode: On-site Address: 830 Rue Lanoie, Upton, QC J0H 2E0 Salary: TBA Shift/Time: Mon-Fri, (9:00am-5:00pm) Term: Temporary-Full Time, 12-months Education: Recent graduate from Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings Ensure all KPI/Safety milestones are completed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety. Stay informed on relevant health and safety legislation and best practices. Assist in conducting workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Support the development and delivery of safety training and awareness programs. Help maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports. Participate in incident investigations and assist in tracking corrective actions. Contributes to data collection and analysis for safety performance metrics. Assist in preparing materials for safety meetings and toolbox talks. QUALIFICATIONS: Recent graduate from a Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Strong interest in workplace health and safety and a desire to learn. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Bilingual (French and English) is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license may be required depending on site location.
