Operations Manager

A leading packaging manufacturing company in East London, Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take full responsibility for overseeing plant operations, driving productivity, and ensuring customer orders are delivered on time, every time. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement across production, warehousing, and distribution functions. Responsibilities Manage end-to-end operations including production, maintenance, warehousing, and distribution. Ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer demand, quality standards, and delivery timelines. Drive operational performance by implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance in line with company and legal requirements. Lead, motivate, and develop operational teams to achieve excellence. Manage budgets, cost control, and operational efficiencies to meet financial objectives. Collaborate with sales, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure customer satisfaction and sustainable growth. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop strategies to address performance gaps. Requirements Bachelors degree or diploma in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in operations management within manufacturing, preferably in packaging, plastics, or FMCG. Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and logistics management. Solid leadership experience with the ability to manage large teams effectively. Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. A track record of driving efficiency, cost savings, and operational excellence. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs. Benefits Salary: negotiable.
