Job Description

Our client, an established business in the agricultural and commodities trading sector, is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Import and Export Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing import/export documentation, coordinating third-party purchases, and ensuring accurate financial and operational reporting across all cross-border transactions. Key Responsibilities Coordinate logistics for export shipments from Durban and manage import deliveries. Process and manage third-party purchase orders on the system for exports. Collect, complete, and verify all import and export documentation in a timely manner. Compile and maintain position reports, including contracts, inventory, and forex status. Finalise buyer contracts and oversee related shipping documentation. Reconcile contracts and stock balances for both imports and exports. Follow up on and confirm payments per shipment contract. Process and check all cost payments related to exports and imports. Maintain accurate transaction records across spreadsheets and systems for full traceability. Liaise with shipping agents to coordinate deliveries and documentation. Submit SAGIS declarations accurately and on time. Manage office expenses for the Western Cape branch. Provide accurate input for cash flow forecasts relating to import/export products. Assist with financial reporting requirements for ABSA and Rabo financing. Requirements Diploma in International Trading, Logistics, Economics, or Accounting. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, exports/imports, or contract administration. Previous exposure to agriculture or commodities trading industry is required. Strong understanding of international shipping procedures and documentation. Experience in forex and financial reconciliations. Knowledge of SAGIS reporting. Familiarity with trade finance processes (e.g. ABSA/Rabo). Skills Required Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail. Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Fluent in English (Afrikaans an advantage).
