Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Scarborough, Ontario. This 20-month opportunity involves managing key accounting processes to support accurate financial reporting and compliance. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and excel in financial analysis and reporting, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:- Prepare month-end journal entries and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.- Assist in drafting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Develop and maintain lead schedules, including fixed asset continuity and accrued expense schedules.- Manage tax continuity schedules and support tax reconciliations for income tax, retail sales tax, harmonized sales tax, and insurance premium tax.- Contribute to management reporting efforts and regulatory filing requirements.- Perform variance analysis and provide detailed commentary on financial outcomes.- Support the external year-end audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.Top PrioritiesAccounting Focus: Accurate journal entries and debits/credits.Reconciliation: Investigate and reconcile accounts from trial balance to source documents.Communication: Strong collaboration with Canadian and US teams.-Qualifications3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.CPA designation or equivalent preferred (ACCA, CA considered).Strong attention to detail, accuracy, adaptability, and ability to maintain confidentiality.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.Experience with OSFI reporting is a plus.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
