Job Description
This is a hybrid position based in Mexico City, requiring 2 days per week at the office. Role Overview We’re a fast-growing SaaS company looking for an Operational Controller to lead our financial operations across LATAM and the U.S. This high-impact role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and reporting while supporting our leadership team with insights for growth. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Reporting Supervise accounting operations for LATAM and the U. S., ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and review statutory financial statements for Mexico and consolidated reports across LATAM. Ensure proper application of US GAAP in consolidated and local reporting. Manage fixed asset controls and ensure accurate recording, depreciation, and reporting. Tax & Compliance Ensure tax compliance for all company entities, including timely filings and reporting. Oversee tax obligations for U.S. entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Support legal compliance with U.S. authorities and coordinate with external advisors when required. Provide timely documentation and evidence to internal and external auditors. Financial Control & Processes Monitor and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure process integrity. Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and scalability in a startup environment. Partner with leadership to provide financial insights, forecasts, and recommendations for decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, legal, and product) to align financial processes with business objectives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus. 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or financial operations, ideally within tech or SaaS companies . Strong knowledge of US GAAP and LATAM tax regulations (Mexico, Argentina and Chile required). Proven experience in managing multi-country entities and cross-border reporting. Demonstrated ability to work with auditors and manage statutory and consolidated financial reporting. Strong understanding of asset control processes and financial compliance. Proficiency in English (oral and written); Spanish required. Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience working in startup or high-growth environments preferred. Startup mindset: proactive, hands-on, and solutions-oriented
