Job Description

My client is looking for an experienced HR Manager to oversee the full spectrum of human resources across a workforce of 1,200 employees in multiple regions. This role is both strategic and operational youll be shaping HR policies, driving engagement, and managing compliance, while also working closely with employees, unions, and leadership teams. With one junior HR team member currently in place, this is a career-defining opportunity to establish and grow the HR function. This role is based in Midrand. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Drive recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and retention initiatives. Oversee compensation, benefits, and employee development. Act as the primary liaison with unions and employee representatives, ensuring strong IR and compliance with labour laws. Manage grievance procedures, disciplinary processes, and dispute resolution. Promote diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives. Maintain HR systems (HRIS) and provide accurate reporting to leadership. Requirements: Bachelors degree in HR or related field. 5 years HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role. Strong knowledge of labour laws, union relations, and dispute resolution. Advantageous: experience in the mining or motor industry, exposure to HR/IR across Botswana and Zambia. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office; SAGE 300 is a plus.
