Freelance HSE Advisor Location: Sunderland Contract Type: Freelance (Minimum through to end of year) Rate: Negotiable day rate Potential: Temp-to-perm for the right candidate We are currently seeking a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground HSE Advisor to support ongoing operations on a construction project in Sunderland. This freelance opportunity runs through to at least the end of the year, with strong potential of a temp to perm agreement, if desired, for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: * Actively monitor and enforce Health, Safety & Environmental policies on-site * Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments * Support the delivery of toolbox talks and site inductions * Investigate incidents and near-misses, and contribute to root cause analysis * Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation and best practices * Provide clear, proactive support to site teams and management What We’re Looking For: * Proven HSE experience in an on-site construction role * NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification * Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulations * Practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills * Must be physically present and active on-site – this is not a desk-based role * CSCS Card Why Join? * Competitive, negotiable day rate * Long-term pipeline of work with the potential to transition into a permanent position (if willing to travel outside the North East) * Be part of a safety-driven, growing team with real impact on-site To apply, apply within or get in contact with Abigail.
