Junior Family Solicitor / Fee Earner Location: Chichester, West Sussex Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Opportunity A respected and long-established law firm in Chichester is seeking a Junior Family Solicitor (1-2 years PQE) to join its supportive Family Department. The team handles a full range of privately funded family work, including divorce, separation, financial remedy proceedings, private children law, cohabitation disputes, and matters involving domestic abuse. The Role The successful candidate will work closely with senior colleagues and the Head of Department, gaining exposure to a wide variety of cases while developing their own caseload. Key Responsibilities: Assisting senior solicitors on complex and high-value cases Managing an appropriate caseload with supervision Drafting applications, statements, and other legal documents Attending client meetings, hearings, and mediations Delivering timely and accurate legal advice Ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory obligations Working in line with the Resolution Code of Practice The Candidate Qualified Solicitor (1-2 years PQE) with a genuine passion for family law Strong technical, drafting, and analytical skills Excellent communication skills and empathy with clients Ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and discretion Confident IT user (Excel, HMCTS Portal, Practical Law) Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential What's on Offer Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Ongoing training and professional development Clear career progression opportunities A collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking environment This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Family Solicitor to develop their career within a well-regarded Chichester-based team.
