Role: M&E Buyer Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) Location: Yeadon, Leeds Type: Permanent, full-time We are recruiting for an experienced M&E Buyer to join a leading building services contractor in Yeadon, Leeds. This is a brand-new role, allowing you to set up and drive the procurement function for mechanical and electrical works across a diverse project portfolio. The Role As the M&E Buyer, you'll be responsible for procuring all mechanical and electrical materials, plant, and subcontract packages. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase M&E equipment, materials, and subcontract packages in line with specifications. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure best value and service. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to meet project deadlines. Coordinate procurement with Project Managers and site teams across live projects. Maintain accurate records for compliance, warranties, and O&M documentation. Stay up to date with market trends, lead times, and cost movements. About You Proven experience as an M&E Buyer within a building services, mechanical, or electrical contracting environment - essential. Strong understanding of M&E drawings, specifications, and systems. Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills. Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
