Senior Estimator

Job Title: Senior Estimator - Social Housing Maintenance Location: London Package: up to £85,000 (Basic Salary) - DOE, £6,000 (Car Allowance) Overview Spencer & James are representing a leading Tier 1 Principal Contractor that are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their Housing Maintenance team, based in London. This is a pivotal position where you’ll play a central role mentoring and manaing a small team of Estimators and preparing and managing multi-million-pound tenders, helping secure long-term and profitable contracts. Key Responsibilities * Analyse tender documents to identify submission requirements, risks, and opportunities. * Take the lead in preparing and submitting tenders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. * Present pricing strategies and commercial recommendations to senior management. * Collaborate with Commercial and Operational teams to design efficient and innovative delivery solutions. * Develop cost plans using subcontractor quotations, labour analysis, and alternative delivery models. * Complete and submit client pricing schedules accurately and within deadlines. * Mentor and manage a small team of Estimators, providing guidance and professional development support. What We’re Looking For? * Proven experience in housing maintenance estimating, ideally with exposure to planned, responsive repairs and voids. * Strong background in tender preparation and submission. * In-depth knowledge of commercial pricing models such as Schedule of Rates, Price per Property, and Price per Repair. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders. * Leadership experience, with the ability to support and develop a team. * Commercially astute, detail-focused, and strategic in approach.
