Health & Safety Manager – Refurbishment & Fit Out Contractor Location: South West London Salary: Competitive package Fetch is working exclusively with a respected refurbishment and fit out contractor based in South West London who are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of an experienced Health & Safety Manager. The Health & Safety Manager will take ownership of the company’s H&S strategy and ensure compliance across multiple projects, reporting directly to the Directors. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to shape procedures, support site teams, and maintain the highest levels of safety across complex refurbishment and fit out schemes. Responsibilities * Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s health and safety management systems in line with current legislation and best practice * Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring findings are documented and acted upon * Work closely with project teams, site managers, and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture * Prepare, review, and approve risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all site activities * Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety briefings to site staff and subcontractors * Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions * Liaise with external bodies including clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities * Provide advice and guidance to Directors and senior management on H&S performance and compliance * Ensure all statutory records and documentation are up to date and readily available * Support pre-construction planning, advising on H&S requirements during design and procurement stages * Drive continuous improvement of safety processes, systems, and procedures across the business Candidate Requirements * Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager (or H&S Advisor ready to step up) within the construction sector * Strong track record in refurbishment and fit out projects (high-end residential experience highly desirable) * NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification is essential * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with teams at all levels * Proactive and hands-on approach, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices and drive improvements What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to play a key role in shaping and implementing H&S strategy across prestigious projects * Collaborative working environment with direct support from senior management * Long-term career progression with a growing contractor Health & Safety Manager – Refurbishment & Fit Out Contractor
