Project Accountant - 6 month

Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be partnering with our well-known public sector client in their search for a Project Accountant to join the business on a 6 month contract on a day rate basis. You'll manage the financial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring accurate reporting and budget control while working closely with project managers and senior stakeholders. On offer is an attractive day-rate and highly flexible hybrid working policy of just 1 day onsite per week in Glasgow city centre. Our client is seeking candidates who can start within the next month so short or no notice period would be highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Prepare financial reports for ongoing and new projects Monitor project budgets and conduct variance analysis Support forecasting and identify cost optimisation opportunities Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations Maintain project cost records and support audit processes Drive improvements to project accounting processes What We're Looking For Essential: Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) Project accounting experience, preferably in public sector Experience with large accounting systems Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modelling) Strong analytical and communication skills Budget management and forecasting experience Desirable: IFRS16 experience Knowledge of business cases and public sector frameworks Process improvement experience Next Steps – How to Apply If you think you have the experience that we are looking for we would love to hear from you.
