Site Engineer

SITE ENGINEER REQUIRED – HS2 PROJECT (MIDLANDS) Location: Midlands (HS2 Project) Start Date: Immediate Rate: Competitive – DOE Duration: Long-term, ongoing work An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and competent Site Engineer to join a major civil engineering infrastructure project on the HS2 route in the Midlands. This role offers the chance to work on one of the UK’s flagship infrastructure programmes, contributing to complex, high-value civil works with a well-established Tier 1 contractor. We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong individual with a background in heavy civils, earthworks, drainage, or structures. Essential Requirements: * Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure or civils projects (HS2, rail, highways, or similar) * Strong setting out and surveying skills using GPS and total station equipment * Competent in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications * CSCS card (Engineering/Technical) * SMSTS or SSSTS preferred * Valid First Aid certificate * Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline * Experience working to strict QA, health & safety, and compliance standards ️ Key Responsibilities: * Setting out for a range of civils works including earthworks, drainage, structures, and utilities * Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy * Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications * Overseeing quality control and health and safety on site * Liaising with subcontractors, supervisors, and the wider project team * Maintaining detailed records, including ITPs, site diaries, and as-builts * Supporting senior engineers and site management with progress tracking and issue resolution ✅ What’s on Offer: * Long-term opportunity on a landmark HS2 project * Competitive day rate or salary, depending on experience * Exposure to high-profile civil engineering works * Strong potential for progression within a leading project delivery team
