Estimator (Construction)

Job Title: Estimator – Civils/Groundworks Subcontractor. About The client: They're a well established Civil Engineering/Groundworks subcontractor based in Wakefield, Yorkshire with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing and securing new projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability. Responsibilities include: * Preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and groundworks packages * Reviewing tender documentation and specifications * Liaising with clients, suppliers, and contractors to obtain accurate pricing information * Preparing and submitting tender returns * Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options * Assisting in handovers to the operations team Requirements: * Previous experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering/groundworks sector * Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes * Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail * Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office * Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously * Strong communication and negotiation skills.
