Senior Estimator – Specialist Builders Dereham Based Full-Time £55,000 – £65,000 A highly esteemed, award-winning specialist building contractor based in North Norfolk is seeking to appoint a Senior Estimator. With a reputation built on craftsmanship, community, and sustainable excellence our client delivers bespoke residential, conservation, and commercial projects across Norfolk and Suffolk. The Role As Senior Estimator, you will: Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates and cost plans for high-end bespoke residential, heritage, and sustainable building projects (many award-winning). Analyse architectural and technical designs, specifications, and tender documents to develop precise and compelling bids. Cultivate and maintain relationships with specialist subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive rates and ensure high-quality delivery. Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and strategic meetings, acting as a commercial and technical advisor. Mentor junior estimating staff and drive continuous improvement in estimating protocols and accuracy. Deliver clear, effective handovers to project teams to ensure seamless transition from pre-construction to execution. Candidate Requirements We’re looking for someone with: Minimum 5 years of estimating experience, ideally within high-end residential, heritage, or sustainable building sectors. Proven track record of leading estimates for bespoke, complex projects. Exceptional technical understanding of construction processes and materials, including heritage and eco-friendly methods. Commercial acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to oversee high-value tender bids. Proficiency with estimating tools/software Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, able to collaborate across creative, technical, and operational teams
