Contract: Permanent Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 Package (Car Allowance Travel to Site Pension Healthcare Flexible Working & more!) The Opportunity We are delivering a £300m Ministry of Justice redevelopment project in Cambridgeshire – one of the most significant public sector schemes currently underway in the UK. This landmark development will deliver state-of-the-art facilities to modern standards of sustainability, security, and efficiency. To support this, we are seeking a Senior Project Planner to join our planning team. This is a key role, providing planning expertise across both pre-construction and delivery stages, ensuring the programme is robust, realistic, and drives successful project outcomes. What You’ll Do: Project: £300m Major MoJ Scheme – Cambridgeshire/Suffolk As Senior Planner, you will: * Lead planning activities for a flagship £300m MoJ project, from pre-construction through to delivery and handover. * Develop detailed tender and construction programmes, providing accurate logic, sequencing, and resourcing. * Monitor and update live project programmes, collating progress information and identifying risks or delays. * Advise project teams on planning matters, providing technical support and guidance across all phases. * Produce “what-if” scenarios, recovery programmes, and mitigation strategies where required. * Collaborate closely with design, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure programmes are achievable and aligned with contractual obligations. * Support governance processes by providing regular progress reports and programme intelligence to senior leadership. * Attend site regularly to advise on planning and sequencing challenges, ensuring robust construction methodologies. What You’ll Bring We are looking for someone with: * Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within a main contractor environment. * A solid background of working on large-scale projects, ideally £50m–£300m, with experience on justice, custodial, healthcare, or major public sector schemes an advantage. * Strong technical knowledge of construction sequencing and buildability. * Proficiency in Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Project. * Good knowledge of NEC contract conditions and their impact on planning requirements. * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. * A collaborative, proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability.
