Job: Supplier Performance Management Location: Matamoros Mexico Duration: 3-6 Months contract with possible extension Job Description Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced onsite contractor to be embedded at an underperforming supplier specializing in seat cushions and seat covers. The contractor will serve as the primary liaison between the supplier’s production team and our organization, with the objective of diagnosing and correcting root causes of poor performance in On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Goods Receiving Inspection (GRI) KPIs. This role is pivotal in driving accountability, improving supplier alignment, and ensuring production priorities are executed daily with transparency and urgency. Main Tasks Daily monitoring of the processing of open orders and backlogs, including status tracking and reporting on current delivery volumes. Collection and implementation of key performance indicators to document delivery performance (e.g., delivery backlog, OTIF, open orders, completion rate). Root cause analysis of backlogs and disruptions, derivation and prioritization of improvement measures in close coordination with the supplier. Direct support of production and logistics, active coordination of key workflows, and, if necessary, management of a task force team. Regular management of measures and escalations, identification and tracking of critical orders, as well as rapid escalation in case of imminent delivery failures. Standardization of reporting and communication between supplier and client, including daily status reports for management. Additional Responsibilities Work with supplier management to develop and track corrective action plans addressing systemic issues. Recommend process changes to improve schedule adherence, material flow, and quality assurance. Facilitate daily stand-up meetings between supplier operations and hiring organization representatives to ensure alignment on priorities. Provide weekly performance reports and risk assessments to internal leadership. Support implementation of Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives within the supplier facility. Profile / Qualifications Experience in supplier management, process analysis, or operational logistics/production. Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and analytical abilities. Knowledge of common reporting and quality management systems is an advantage. Fluent in English; good command of Spanish is preferred. Hands-on, shop floor–oriented problem solver with proven track record in KPI recovery and supplier development. Objectives Increase output and reduce existing backlogs at the supplier. Improve transparency regarding current processing status and root causes of problems. Enhance cooperation, with quick identification and resolution of issues on site. Achieve sustained improvement in OTD and GRI KPIs (target >95%). Strengthen collaboration and accountability between supplier and hiring organization.
