Job Description
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Solutions Architect for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £650/day (Inside IR35). This role will have flexible working arrangements. Responsibilities: - Contribute and participate in commercial reviews. - Options Appraisals and Solution context documentation. - Governance of Design Decisions (against defined EIS standards and architecture principles). - Produce High Level Design (HLD) and technical oversight into the completion of this. - Produce ‘Request for Change’ (RFC) for changes expected from third party vendors. - Governance and review of Low-Level Designs (LLD). - Technical governance of HLD & LLDs through Architecture Governance Framework (Technical Design Authority, Design Review Forum, Post Implementation Reviews) & Change Advisory Board (CAB). - Statement of Work preparation. - Attend and present at relevant Technical Assurance\Design Group meetings. Take and deliver actions, drive to conclusion through relevant teams in EIS and with partners. - Provide technical advice and governance on licensing requirements as detailed in the Bill of Materials (BOM). - Provide interface between the customer Third Parties and EIS security functions. - Provide technical advice in support of delivery portfolios. - Mitigation of Technical Risks as requested/required. - Support the customer to understand the actions and work packages to deliver accurate timelines for the technical elements. Essential Skills: - Significant and relevant IT Experience - Demonstrable work experience equivalent to SCQF 9 or be educated to Degree level in an in an IT qualification (or equivalent experience) - Strong background and experience within Architecture and Design disciplines - Extensive demonstrable knowledge and experience of modern Microsoft Technologies (Dynamics, Azure, O365, Power Platform) with a particular focus on Microsoft Power Platform architecture, governance and best practice - Experience in solution design for business applications (including low-code no-code platforms) - Experience of managing technical design and architecture across complex change programs - Background in business applications, application architecture, and common application principles - Skills in Application Portfolio Management - Broad knowledge of all IT Domains - Strong facilitation skills; ability to clearly and effectively communicate at all levels, including the ability to communicate complex technical detail to a non-technical audience - Strong technical background with capability to operate at the highest level, whilst understanding and influencing detail. - Managing multiple IT suppliers across a complex organisation - Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of individual decisions - Ability to translate and realise business needs into technical solutions - Designing, Developing and integrating IT Services/Applications - Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture and familiarisation with one framework i.e. TOGAF - Excellent communication and elaboration skills to communicate complex issues and situations to various stakeholders - Strong interpersonal skills - Pragmatic and common-sense approach to solving complex business and technology issues - Experienced and highly skilled at stakeholder and relationship management, including managing siloed requirements with common interaction - Ability to manage competing requirements and priorities - Experienced and skilled at influencing senior stakeholders - Ability to challenge business scenarios - Supportive demeanour - Demonstrates integrity to build trust - Business or Customer-focused - everything leads back to a business driver, goal, or objective - Understanding or experience of being an 'intelligent customer' - Enthusiasm to embrace and ability to effectively manage Change - Solutions focused with a passion for driving improvement - Resilience and ability to thrive in a challenging environment Desirable Skills: - ISEB\BCS Solution Architect\Practitioner certified - Experience of working in a consultancy or federated shared services environment - IT Supplier Relationship Management - Use Case Analysis and Documentation - Working knowledge of/accreditation in use of ArchiMate If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
