Job Description
R&D Hardware Engineer Sensor, Safety & Machine Vision Join to apply for the R&D Hardware Engineer Sensor, Safety & Machine Vision role at Datalogic Overview This position will be a key member of the Hardware Engineering Team. As a member of this team, you will be shaping the future of Datalogic’s success in SSMV (Sensor, Safety and Machine Vision). Role Mission The main mission of this role is to design and validate electronic hardware for SSMV products, in particular related to analog and mixed signal parts. This is an important point to achieve top performance level products. Key Responsibilities Create models or simulations to understand in advance the behavior of electronic subsystem during design phase. Design hardware electronic subsystems according to the technical specifications available, following specific guidelines and processes (selecting suitable commercial components and custom ICs, sizing their parameters properly, leveraging simulation tools, prototyping the circuits or using evaluation boards, etc.) and then measuring the behavior to refine the initial design. Define a verification plan for HW subsystems, planning also the requirements related to FW or SW necessary to perform the test. Verify the behavior of the designed subsystem against temperature, humidity, environmental stresses, etc.; verify EMC, following the specification and the product regulatory. Follow the certification process at the bodies. Consolidate collected data, verify the compliance with the specification and report the achieved results during the technical review. Execute schematic entry using Company tools and launch standard control tools; check the resulting Bill of Material. Manage the release of the HW according to the Company procedures. Share adopted design criteria and discuss them during Design reviews. In the different stages of the development of a New Product (engineering sample, Alpha, Beta, Pilot), execute all the tests listed in the Validation test suite, following the internal procedures and reporting the results. Verify system performance in laboratory, using available equipment, tools and instruments. Provide critical review and guidance to teammate’s analysis and design. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in electronic engineering Languages: Italian; English Fluent Experience: 5 years of experience in analog electronic design Technological Skills: Knowledge in using electrical CAD and simulation tools for HW design (Siemens Mentor Expedition preferred). Practical and theoretical knowledge of Analog circuit development, in particular amplifier design, stability theory, small signal and noise analysis. Good knowledge in Digital Hardware development to interface analog front-end systems with microcontrollers or FPGA units. Good command of Analog parts and components selection to develop systems that satisfy specifications. Good knowledge in power supply topology and development, to achieve best performances in efficiency and miniaturization. Other Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Engineering and Information Technology Industries: Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing Location: Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy J-18808-Ljbffr
