Join to apply for the SW ENGINEER_N5_D role at Thales We are looking for a SW Engineer with demonstrated experience in the following topics: Overview Thales Alenia Space is a Joint Venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), a global space manufacturer delivering high‑tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures. We work with governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators to enable Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate. Responsibilities SW specification: define SW functional/interface/performance requirements from the System specification and Customer requirements Requirements allocation for main subsystems (e.g. DH/ Thermal/ TTC/ Power/ etc.) Definition of SW Architecture Definition of the SW development plan, covering all the SW lifecycle phases, according to the defined SW category Support to the ITT process for the selection of SW contractors Preparation of the overall SW Technical Baseline for the SW developers Follow on of the SW developer contractors Support the definition of the FDIR architecture and related SW requirements, considering the foreseen PUS services Ability to analyze outcomes of SW Unit Tests Support SW/SW, HW/SW integration and SW validation on the SW Test Benches and Avionic Test bench (SVFSTB/ATB) Preparation of technical documentation, e.g. SW ICD, SW user manual, SW budgets, etc. Definition of SW requirements, design solutions and coding rules for cyber security aspects Follow on of cyber security activities related to the SW Qualifications Master Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace or Electronics engineering Experience in RTOS and programming languages (including assembly) Good knowledge of communication protocols (serial lines, buses, networks) Problem solving attitude Good management skills (schedule, costs, supplier selection and follow-on, etc.) Team working and good communication skills Good/Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English Employment details Seniority level: Not Applicable Employment type: Full-time Job function: Engineering and Information Technology Industries: Aviation and Aerospace, Component Manufacturing and Defense and Space Manufacturing Thales Alenia Space provides CAREERS and not only jobs.
