Job Description West Bay Mechanical is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Site Supervisor to oversee HVAC sheet metal installations on commercial projects in Nanaimo and surrounding areas. This role is suited to a Red Seal–certified Sheet Metal Journeyperson with at least 5–7 years of field leadership experience. The Site Supervisor will work closely with Project Managers, as well as multiple Foremen, to ensure successful project execution. The position involves coordinating teams, managing schedules, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Travel to sites across Vancouver Island (including Nanaimo, Courtenay, Comox, and occasionally Campbell River) will be required, along with some office work. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight: Supervise and coordinate HVAC sheet metal installations on commercial projects. Team Leadership: Oversee Foremen and tradespeople across multiple teams and projects. Scheduling & Coordination: Work with Project Managers to plan manpower needs, allocate resources, and maintain project timelines. Quality Control: Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards, project specifications, and client expectations. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve site issues to minimize delays. Communication: Act as the main point of contact for contractors, foremen, and field staff regarding project updates and challenges. Safety Compliance: Enforce West Bay’s safety protocols, ensuring adherence to all codes and standards. Reporting & Administration: Support Project Managers by handling documentation, reporting, and use of project management tools. Required Skills and Qualifications Certification: Red Seal Sheet Metal Worker (5–7 years post-certification required). Technical Skills: Strong background in HVAC sheet metal (air movement), blueprint reading, and site layout. Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore and Bluebeam considered an asset. Leadership: Proven ability to manage crews, mentor team members, and maintain a positive work environment. Driver’s License: Valid license required for travel to job sites.
