Commercial Lawyer

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Commercial Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis, for 3-months initially with potential for extension. The role offers predominantly remote working, with ad-hoc attendance in the West Midlands, and a rate in the region of £50 - £55 p/hour UMB , subject to experience. The ideal candidate will have experience of handling contracts and procurement law within Local Government, and skills in handling high-value and complex agreements. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Supporting, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, including PFI, funding agreements and joint ventures Advising on procurement strategy and risk management Supporting legal and operational priorities across major programmes and projects, providing legal support throughout the project lifecycle, including risk management, contract management and dispute resolution Drafting and negotiating the full suite of construction contracts, e.g. NEC and JCTs, and advising on construction-related regulations Reviewing and advising on clearance reports within the context of the Council’s governance and decision-making procedures Rewards and Benefits: Predominantly Remote Working Working hours: 35 hours per week Monday – Friday Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
