The Role They’re looking for a field-based electrician and panel fitter to form a new installation team for residential ECO projects across the Midlands. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be working closely together to deliver solar PV installations, electrical work, and related energy efficiency measures. You’ll be trusted to manage your own schedule, represent the company on-site, and deliver high-quality installations. What You’ll Be Doing Electrician Installing and wiring residential solar PV systems, signing off work to meet BS7671 wiring regulations and MCS installation standards Configure and troubleshoot DC and AC circuits, ensuring full system functionality Liaise with clients, project managers, and fellow installers to meet deadlines Carrying out testing, certification, and ensuring safe electrical practices. Panel Fitter Assisting with solar PV panel installations on residential properties. Supporting electricians with wiring, cable runs, and fuse board work. Handling installation tasks on-site from start to finish Connect panels to inverters and integrate with existing electrical systems Both Travelling together across the Midlands (Birmingham up to Leeds) to deliver projects. Managing site preparation, safe working practices, and client relationships. Occasionally working Saturdays on a rota basis (with overtime pay). Representing the business at a high standard and contributing to its growth. What They’re Looking For Electrician NVQ (or equivalent recognised by NIC), 18th Edition, and Testing & Inspection (2391). Solar PV qualification essential; experience with heat pumps highly desirable. Experience in renewables, ideally solar PV installations. Panel Fitter / Mate Experience with panel fitting, electrical support, or solar installations. Comfortable assisting with cabling, wiring, and on-site support. Both Full UK driving licence (over 21, fewer than 6 points). Based close enough to work together and travel in a shared van. Practical, reliable, and happy to work in a field-based role with travel. What’s In It For You Electrician salary: £40,000 - £45,000 up to £60,000 OTE Panel Fitter salary: £30,000 - £45,000 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, with holiday incentive scheme for additional leave. Company van and fuel card (shared within the team). Paid overtime and enhanced Saturday rates as well as additional travel time paid for Family culture with regular events (summer party, Christmas, family days). Strong training and progression routes, including opportunities to gain new qualifications (up to QS).
