HEAD OF FINANCE - ITALY

Overview For an important International Group (Food industry) based in North Eastern Italy (Veneto) we are looking for a HEAD OF FINANCE - ITALY. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional to lead the Company's financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities in Italy. This role requires strong expertise in working capital management within a dynamic environment influenced by seasonality, commodity price fluctuations, and evolving local demand. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to senior management, driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with both corporate standards and local regulations. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed profit and loss and balance sheet forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses tailored to the business Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and local regulations Develop and track KPIs such as Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC), Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) Present reports highlighting profit and loss and working capital performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement Business planning for extraordinary growth transactions, in particular M&A Cost Control & Optimization Design and implement strategies to optimize costs and improve financial performance Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure accurate costing of materials, labor, and overheads Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process and provide rolling forecasts for the Italian distribution unit Collaborate with local teams to align financial feasibility with company objectives Cash Flow & Liquidity Management Develop and manage cash flow forecasts in line with market demand and the company’s business model Partner with finance and treasury teams to optimize cash balances Risk Management & Compliance Assess risks related to commodity volatility, supply chain challenges, and market demand shifts Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and industry standards Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate financial reporting Supervision of the statutory and IFRS financial statements and tax compliance Business and Organization Transformation Driving organizational transformation initiatives and leading efforts to enhance process efficiency across the business Overseeing the design and presentation of business plans to support strategic transactions, with a strong focus on M&A opportunities Key Skills & Competencies Masters's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field 7 years experience in financial management role, preferably in the FMCG context Fluent business English orally and in writing Team management Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including variance analysis and working capital optimization In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (Local GAAP and IFRS) Proven problem-solving, decision-making capabilities and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience engaging senior management Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (S4HANA) and advanced Excel Strategic mindset with the ability to align finance with broader business goals Availability to travel (max 10 times per year) We value diversity and support people in developing their potential and strengths, realizing their ideas and seizing opportunities.
