Overview Institute for Earth System Predictions (IESP) CMCC Position cod. 12636 Full stack Developer Deadline: 30th September, 2025 Role The Junior Full stack Developer reports to the ROFS Division and is responsible to support the design, development and maintenance of responsive web GIS applications with the aim of visualizing ocean forecasting data. Responsibilities Visualization of GIS data via web. Design, development, and maintenance of web GIS applications and ad-hoc REST API. Design, development, and maintenance of backend services. Requirements We are looking for a motivated person with the following requirements: M.Sc. degree (or equivalent working experience) in Computer Science, Engineering. Knowledge of web services and web application development. Knowledge of interaction with and development of REST API. Knowledge of main JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js or equivalent). Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token and OAuth 2.0. Knowledge of backend development (NodeJS, PHP, Python). Knowledge of Version Control Management Systems (git). Knowledge of GNU/Linux operating systems and Bash scripting. Fluency in the English language. Furthermore, it is welcome to have the following experiences: Web GIS protocols (WMS, WFS, …) and servers (MapServer, GeoServer, …) Knowledge of application containerization (Docker). Object-oriented design. Agile methodologies. Additional programming languages (specifically: Java). Duration, Compensation & Benefits Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. The Junior Full stack Developer will be based in Lecce CMCC office. The appointment period will be initially of 24 months starting from December 2024, with a gross annual salary range of 25-40K Euros. Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract. Flexible working time as per internal policies. Support during the immigration process, if needed. Protected Category Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
