CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist Location: Merthyr Tydfil Salary: £14.50 per hour (equivalent to approx. £30,160 per year, plus overtime) Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: Monday Friday, Day Shifts About the Company Haystack Selection are working with a well-established manufacturing and engineering business that produces precision components for a variety of sectors. Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of work, we are seeking a talented CNC Machinist to join the production team. The Role In this role, you will set up and operate CNC machinery to manufacture high-quality parts in line with customer specifications. Training will be provided to develop your programming skills, although prior knowledge of programming would be highly beneficial. Responsibilities Set and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines Read, understand, and work from engineering drawings and specifications Carry out first-off checks and in-process inspections with appropriate measuring tools Make adjustments to machine settings to ensure consistent quality and efficiency Perform routine maintenance and resolve minor machine issues where necessary Work closely with colleagues in production and design to improve processes Ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines Skills & Experience Previous experience in a CNC Machinist role Skilled in operating both CNC and manual machinery (5-axis experience desirable) Good knowledge of tolerances and quality requirements Ability to interpret CAD/CAM data and technical drawings Experience with CMM equipment is advantageous Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to work Whats on Offer £14.50 per hour (£30,160 annual equivalent), plus overtime opportunities Ongoing training and career development opportunities 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Company pension scheme
