Hydrovac Operator

Your Role: As a Hydrovac Operator, youll be at the heart of the action, executing precision suction excavation while maintaining our commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities: Operate hydrovac trucks using high-pressure water and vacuum systemsperform slot trenching, debris removal, utility exposure, and suction excavation,andgully cleaning/maintenance. Prepare and manage job sitesconduct pre-job hazard assessments, inspect for underground utilities, and set up safe working zones. Safeguard operationsadhere to all safety and environmental protocols, remain alert to ground conditions, and safeguard against line strikes and site hazards. Maintain equipmentperform pre- and post-shift checks, routine maintenance, and promptly report or arrange repairs. Documentation & communicationrecord daily logs, complete required paperwork accurately, and liaise clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients. Required Skills & Qualifications: Valid HGV license (ideally Class 2 or C) with clean driving record Experience operating hydrovac or vacuum excavation equipment (or similar heavy vehicles) Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance regulations Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Physically fit with resilience to work across varying weather and site conditions Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance Additional (Preferred): CSCS Card for Construction sites Certifications in First Aid, Groundworks, or relevant safety training Experience with emergency response or willingness to be on-call Familiarity with GPS tracking systems and fleet safety programmes What We Offer: A well-maintained, modern fleet and structured operational processes Full company support: training, continuous development, and commitment to safety culture Competitive compensation (aligned with industry standards and local HGV rates) 24/7 operational infrastructurebe part of a team that delivers reliability and excellence across Scotland
