Job Title: Data Specialist Master and Reference Data Management Location: Wokingham (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week) Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential extension) Day Rate: £470 (Inside IR35) About the Role We are seeking a Data Specialist with strong expertise in master and reference data management to support governance and provenance work within a large-scale transformation programme. The role requires excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams. Key Responsibilities Oversee master and reference data governance, ensuring accountability, transparency, and stewardship across the organisation. Develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies and standards to drive consistency across business units. Manage change processes to evaluate, approve, and implement updates to master and reference data with minimal disruption. Facilitate engagement sessions and clearly communicate master/reference data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide training, guidance, and support on master and reference data to business teams. About You You will bring a proven background in data governance and reference/master data management, along with strong communication and analytical skills. Essential experience includes: 5 years of hands-on experience in master and reference data management or governance. Good understanding of data governance frameworks and practices. Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills across business and technical teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Desirable skills: Relevant certifications (e.g., DAMA CDMP). Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field. Experience with data management tools and technologies. Knowledge of data lineage practices.
