Transport Manager

The Transport Manager will be responsible for coordinating the transportation and delivery of products across the Staffordshire region focusing on maintaining a high on-time delivery rate, compliance and operational performance standards About the Role The Transport Manager will oversee the transportation and delivery of goods, managing compliance with all regulations and company policies. Responsibilities Fleet & Compliance Manage the company’s O-Licence fleet, ensuring full compliance with all legislation. Oversee vehicle compliance, health & safety, and adherence to company policies. Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, arranging servicing, repairs, and routine inspections. Monitor tachograph records and maintain accurate documentation on vehicle service and repairs. People Management Lead the recruitment, induction, training, and development of staff. Manage staffing levels to cover absences and peak workloads. Delegate tasks effectively, monitoring staff workload, output, and performance. Oversee staff development, training, and disciplinary processes. Qualifications Proven experience in managing transport, logistics, or distribution operations within a compliance-driven environment. Strong people management skills, with experience in leading, developing, and motivating teams. Excellent organisational and planning abilities, with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels. Experience in cost control, including managing fuel, maintenance, and overtime budgets. Transport Managers CPC qualification (essential)
