Enterprise Architect – Application Architecture (Contract) Hybrid (UK-based, 2-3 Days Onsite) Full-time | Contract | Inside IR35 Initial Term: 6 months (with potential extension) Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for shaping enterprise-scale application architecture? We’re looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the development of application architecture strategy across a large, complex public sector organisation. This is a hybrid contract role , working across both business and technology domains, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, innovation, and long-term capability planning. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain the application architecture vision and roadmap. Lead architectural engagements across multiple business and technology domains. Inspire and guide a team of architects, including contractors and permanent staff. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape strategic direction and investment. Identify opportunities for innovation and emerging technology adoption. Ensure architectural outputs align with enterprise principles and deliver value. Support the development of investment cases and whole-life costing. Provide architectural assurance and contribute to procurement and supplier evaluation. What You’ll Bring Proven experience in enterprise or application architecture at a senior level. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. Experience working in large-scale, federated or public sector environments. Deep understanding of architectural frameworks, governance, and standards. Ability to translate complex business needs into strategic technology solutions.
