Windows Server Migration & Upgrade Engineer SC Cleared Contract: 3 Months Initially | Start Date: 1st September 2025 Rate: £315£340 per day (Inside IR35) Location: Remote with occasional office presence required in Gloucester Clearance: UK Security Clearance Essential Were seeking an experienced Windows Server Migration & Upgrade Engineer to support a critical infrastructure project, migrating and upgrading Windows 2012/2012 R2 Servers to Windows 2022 within a secure power station environment. Youll bring strong expertise in Windows infrastructure, VMware administration, patch and image management , and will be confident troubleshooting enterprise-scale Windows environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support migration from Windows 2012/2012 R2 to Windows 2022 Servers. Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, WSUS in a production environment of 200 servers. Install, configure, and manage VMware infrastructure (vCenter, ESXi, HA, DRS, networking, datastores, P2V, VMotion). Maintain high availability, backup & restore, and DR testing. Work within ITIL processes in a 24/7 enterprise environment . Essential Skills & Experience: 6 years in Windows Server administration in large-scale environments. Proven hands-on experience in OS upgrades (2012 to 2022). Advanced VMware skills including infrastructure builds and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Microsoft Hyper-V and cluster functionalities. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Special Requirements: Active UK SC Clearance (mandatory). Willingness to work out of hours if required.
