Travel Nurse RN - ER/Trauma - $2,723 per week in Stockton, CA

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - 3 years of experience in an emergency room setting - Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS - Experience with Cerner EMR Description: Travelers must complete all required modules prior to arrival. Non-trauma center emergency room serving approximately 270-320 visits per day. On busy days, visit counts can reach up to 350. Facility has 62 beds, with additional hallway beds/chairs. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. Charge nurses are present on both shifts and do not take patients unless absolutely necessary. Emergency room technicians are available to perform EKGs and vital signs. Every other weekend is required. Two out of three major holidays must be worked. Scrub color is navy blue. Telemetry management requires reading and interpreting data without tele tech support. Vented patients may need to be held while awaiting respiratory therapy management. Doctors and mid-level practitioners manage patients; mid-levels generally oversee fast track. There is 24/7 availability of respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. No call shifts are required. Shifts available include 7 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM. Floating to other units is not expected. Floor-specific orientation is a maximum of two shifts. Common patient diagnoses range from lower acuity pediatric cases to critical care cases including CVA, STEMI, sepsis, and ICU admissions from the emergency room. The emergency room has a pediatric zone for patients aged 0-12 years. The emergency department is divided into sections with dedicated charge nurses and includes a substantial number of students in training. Triage nurses are available during peak times. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
