TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Shelby, North Carolina, 28150! Pay Information $1,894 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation and experience with non-titrating cardiac drips. Description: The facility has 241 licensed beds and is a Level 3 Trauma center. It is a teaching hospital and a certified Chest Pain center. There are various patient types and common diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and neuro. The unit is fast-paced with an average daily census of 24 patients. Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6 during both day and night shifts, with potential surge staffing ratios of 1:7-8. CNA ratios are 1:12. Required skills include care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care, and dressing changes. Support within the department includes a charge nurse who may have a patient assignment but is always a resource for staff. Additional support includes phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalists on-site during the day, and virtual support in the evenings and overnight. An intensivist is on-site 24/7, and telemetry monitoring is remote with a telemetry tech. The technology used includes an EMR system, IV pumps, and monitors in all patient rooms. Float requirements include floating within the region and scope of practice as needed. Travelers will be paid for time traveling between facilities while remaining on the clock. Weekend rotations are every other weekend, and holiday expectations include working 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved for up to six days, excluding holidays. Shift times are from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715, with a scheduling cycle every six weeks.
