Pay Information $1,766 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg experience required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MedSurg experience required Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels Experience reading telemetry strips Skills in chest tube management, NGT placement, IV starts, medication gtts management for certain drips (Cardiac: Amiodarone, Cardizem), and PCA Description: This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical/surgical telemetry environment. The role requires the ability to manage various patient types and diagnoses including diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal problems, and wound care. Patient ratios are typically RN: 5-6:1. Support within the department includes a dedicated team of CNAs, charge nurses, and rapid response teams. Telemetry monitoring and tech support are available 24/7. The EMR system in use is Epic, and the unit utilizes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing. There is a weekend rotation every other week, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
