Job Description
Location: Remote, or partially remote - provided you are based in Milan About the Company Our client is a rapidly growing data centre provider, delivering secure, high-performance infrastructure solutions to enterprise and hyperscale customers across EMEA. With an expanding footprint of facilities, they are scaling their finance function to support growth, efficiency, and long-term success. Purpose of the Role The Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and insight across the EMEA region. Working closely with senior management, this position will oversee reporting, analysis, budgeting, and compliance, while providing financial guidance to support strategic decisions within the fast-paced data centre industry. Responsibilities Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages with clear analysis and commentary. Monitor and report on financial performance versus budget and business plan, preparing materials for leadership reviews. Lead and support the annual budgeting process in collaboration with Sales, Operations, IT, and HR / Admin. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making in a rapidly expanding data centre environment. Provide insights into spending trends, cost-saving initiatives, and margin improvement opportunities. Benchmark business performance against competitor and industry trends within the data centre sector. Support forecasting and financial control for data centre construction projects and capital expenditures. Oversee treasury back-office activities (payments, reconciliations, etc.) and credit control functions. Provide ERP system support and act as a key finance user. Partner with the Head of Accounting & Tax on audits, statutory compliance, and review of external accounting firm outputs. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Audit. 5 years of relevant finance experience, ideally in audit, controlling, or consulting. Strong knowledge of accounting policies and IFRS reporting standards. High proficiency in MS Excel and IT systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership. Nice to have: Experience with Oracle NetSuite or other ERP systems. Experience in the data centre, real estate, or infrastructure sector is highly valued. J-18808-Ljbffr
