Customs Tariff Professional

Responsibilities: Oversee and monitor all import shipments to ensure smooth customs clearance Accurately classify a wide range of commodities under the correct tariff headings Determine and validate customs values Apply rules of origin and ensure compliance with preferential trade agreements Liaise directly with SARS, clients, and internal teams to resolve any tariff or valuation issues Ensure full compliance with customs laws, regulations, and company policies Keep up to date with the latest changes in customs Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of Harmonized System (HS) Tariff Codes, customs valuation, and rules of origin Prior experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, or related industry non-negotiable Familiarity with Cargowise or similar systems is a strong advantage Excellent communication and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
