Job Description

Our client is seeking a qualified and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join their Technical Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, attending to mechanical breakdowns, and conducting changeovers in line with production schedules, with the aim of minimising downtime and ensuring product integrity. Key Responsibilities Liaise with production departments on changeovers as per the production plan. Perform changeovers with minimal disruption to production. Set and maintain machines to ensure product quality and integrity. Attend to mechanical breakdowns and conduct minor repairs. Complete maintenance request vouchers and job cards. Perform planned preventative maintenance in line with monthly schedules. Assist with building maintenance and repairs where necessary. Support semi-skilled artisans with fine equipment settings and repairs. Switch compressors and chillers on and off daily. Compile reports on defects, spares, and servicing needs. Ensure suppliers and contractors comply with company procedures and policies. Skills & Competencies Punctual and reliable. Strong problem-solving skills and initiative. Ability to suggest process improvements. Report writing, numeracy, and literacy skills. Strong verbal and written English communication. Self-motivated, team player, with good interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure. Qualifications & Experience Grade 12 and/or Red Seal trade test certificate as a Fitter. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production environment, preferably cosmetic, FMCG, or similar. Experience with packing and filling equipment (advantageous). Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access.
