Mechanic – Earth Moving Equipment Our client, in the construction industry is seeking a qualified Earth Moving Equipment Mechanic, who will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of earthmoving equipment to join their team. Location: Port Elizabeth/ Gqeberha Job type: Permanent - On site Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on earthmoving equipment Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing Perform engine overhauls, component replacements, and system calibrations. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Identify worn or damaged parts and recommend replacements. Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to complete repairs efficiently. Assist with breakdowns on-site Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and ensure a clean, safe working environment. Minimum Requirements Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (Trade Tested) Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on earthmoving equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software. Valid driver’s license (Code 10). Willingness to work overtime, standby, and attend breakdowns when required. Key Competencies/Skills Technical aptitude with strong fault-finding ability. Safety-conscious mindset.
