Job Title: MRI Technologist Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused MRI Technologist to join our Radiology Diagnostic Department at Elmhurst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing MRI procedures with a strong focus on patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality assurance. The role requires effective communication, technical proficiency with MRI equipment, and strict adherence to safety protocols within the magnetic field environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct MRI patient screenings and safety interviews prior to each procedure. Verify patient identity using two approved identifiers at every point of contact. Clearly explain procedures and address patient concerns to ensure cooperation and comfort. Safely position patients and operate MRI equipment, selecting appropriate technical factors and software options. Monitor patients throughout the imaging process, ensuring safety and optimal scan quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the MRI suite and equipment after each use. Perform quality control checks and calibration tests; promptly report equipment malfunctions. Manage inventory of imaging supplies and ensure necessary materials are readily available. Evaluate image quality and accuracy, ensuring all images are properly labeled and recorded. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to document patient encounters and access imaging data. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures and patient interactions. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of diagnostic care. Comply with safety regulations, especially those pertaining to MRI magnetic field zones (Zone IV).
