Regional Operations Manager

Job Description

The Regional Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate the operations of multiple petrochemical facilities within the assigned region, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. This role is responsible for operational efficiency, cost optimization, supply chain coordination, and alignment with corporate strategic objectives. The manager will lead cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and serve as the main liaison between local operations and corporate leadership. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of petrochemical plants within the region, ensuring adherence to production, safety, and environmental standards. Implement operational strategies to meet performance targets (KPIs) such as production efficiency, cost control, downtime reduction, and safety compliance. Lead and develop plant managers and operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, Responsible Care, and local regulations). Coordinate with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Commercial areas to guarantee timely product delivery and customer satisfaction. Monitor financial performance of operations, controlling budgets and identifying areas for cost optimization. Drive improvement projects (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM) to enhance productivity and operational resilience. Act as the regional representative in audits (internal, customer, and regulatory), ensuring proper documentation and readiness. Report to senior corporate leadership on operational results, risks, and strategic opportunities. Education Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Operations Management preferred. Experience Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within the petrochemical, chemical, or related industrial sector. Proven experience managing multiple sites or regional operations. Strong knowledge of petrochemical processes, supply chain management, and regulatory frameworks. Technical Competencies Solid understanding of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949) and industry-specific compliance (STPS, SEMARNAT, OSHA, EPA). Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems. Advanced knowledge of operational excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen). Strong financial acumen (budgeting, cost control, ROI analysis) Advanced English (oral and written).
