SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support (Year 1) Lewisham (SE13) Start Date: ASAP Contract: Temporary to Permanent Hours: Full-time, Term-time only Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Our agency is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lewisham. This role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to two Year 1 pupils with Autism, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with class teachers to support two children with Autism in Year 1. Provide tailored support to meet individual learning and social development needs. Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and engagement. Assist with classroom activities, interventions, and resource preparation. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Requirements: Experience working with children with Autism or other additional needs (essential). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, caring, and adaptable approach. Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and SENCO.
