Job Vacancy KNOWLEDGE It is essential that the post holder has extensive experience of delivering communities and lifelong learning programmes and projects including delivery of accredited opportunities. It is desirable that they have supervised either volunteers and or staff. It is essential that the postholder has one or more qualification at SCQF Level 8 (or higher) or equivalent work experience/ qualifications in Community Education or Teaching or Employability or Social Policy or equivalent relevant communities and lifelong learning experience including trade certificates. It is desirable that they hold verifier and assessor qualifications acceptable to SQA and other accreditation bodies. It is essential that the post holder has experience of planning community learning and development interventions, programmes and projects. It is desirable that they have experience of supporting internal or external working groups to lead on key communities and lifelong learning themes CLOSING DATE - Wednesday 12th November 2025 INTERVIEW DATE - Week Beginning 24th November 2025 Job Advert Position Title: CLLE Worker - Youth Work Directorate: Children, Young People and Partnerships Location: Dalkeith Cluster Contract Status: Permanent Hours of Work: Fixed term until June 2026 Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, evening work and occasional & weekend Weeks per year: 52 Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £39,128.74 per annum. Requirements This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children and Adults, You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
